Why Do I Have a Blog?

A good friend of mine (Kara Kerwin - check out her blog link on the right) defended her Master's Thesis today. She researched, of all things, blogs. Despite what she thinks (and don't we all fill ourselves with similar self doubt?), she did a wonderful job. It was the well sought after end to her academic career at UB. But it left me thinking - why do I write a blog? What motivated me to fill pages online? Did I fit any of her categories?

I realized that my motivation was personal pleasure and purpose. I make it quite clear that I am here to vent and promote Wild Mountain Organics and anything that pleases me because I am on a mission to improve the skin of everyone who reads this - one face/body at a time!

Also, I am a Karma Whore (a new phrase I learned today that I will surely continue to use because it cracks me up). The gist of a Karma Whore - god I hope I get it right - is someone who shamelessly self promotes and visits other blogs, leaving comments, in the hope that my fellow bloggers will one day read mine and think it worthy of a hyperlink thereby increasing promotion to my site and perhaps even to Wild Mountain Organics all under the guise of goodwill gestures on their blogs. It sounds horrible. It sounds as though karma will come back to bite me in the ass. But I like the title/label - Karma Whore.

Which brings me to another little game you should play with your friends - not related to blogs or academics or any subject covered herewith. Everyone should have a Jennifer Lopez name. By that I mean, J Lo. So what would your J Lo name be? Mine would be P Ho. I get a kick out of that because I am really a dirty little 14 year old boy trapped in the body of an adult.

So Karma Whore, P Ho - if the label fits, wear it, I guess.

And I will, as I paddle away on my Tippy Kayak bound for bliss.

Wild Mountain Organics is sponsoring the centerpieces at the Susan G. Komen WNY Affiliate's Survivor's Luncheon. In addition, WMO will be developing a Body Polish/Body Lotion scent. At present that scent is citrus/sandalwood - a wonderful woodsy blend with a hint of orange. Fresh and tingly. For each 8 oz. Body Polish or 6 oz. Body Lotion sold, WMO will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen WNY Affiliate. A worthy product for a worthy cause. Check us out.
